So lately, I've really been into this awesome punk-ish band from Brooklyn called Sleepies which consists of 3 (three) midget slaves that do not work for Sleepy's (the mattress professionals doing it right). Anyway, ever since I've come across their myspace, I've been pretty excited for them and now they're working on an LP that I feel will be awesome (I've felt many things before, I think I discovered Tupac before any pitchfork forcast even mentioned him). Anyway, Sleepies played Tommy's Tavern last night which I've been anticipating for quite some time and they were so good. If you don't believe me, check out these X rated videos that were unleashed onto the Youtube machine:
UGH THIS JAM BE SO DELISHUZZ
The song from the first video is fucking amazing. Look out for their LP that should be released sometime during 2010 and if any one is smart (cough beast reality or reality beast cough) it will be released on their newfound label. Bingo. Anyway, there's an awesome show that they're playing at Dead Herring and Sweet Bulbs are playing, too, and they put on a good fucking show. Sleepies, aaf. GO TO DEAD HERRING IN FEBRUARY, YOU FOOL. Sorry, I can't suppress my undeniable excitement for Sleepies. Shit, I fucking love mattresses.
xo yo gurl yolanda
ps. I'm totally copping the hairstyle as the official leader of the Sleepies' street team. Send me an email and $1,500 if you'd like to join the Sleepies' street team and get the sweet juicy Sleepies' street team hairdo.

Hot Flash Sleepwear
So last night I journeyed to Tommy's Tavern to see one of my favorite bands of all time and of 2009, Spider Bags. My love for Spider Bags began at the very same place my love for Titus Andronicus began, at Maxwell's in NJ. I don't remember much about that show but I do remember than Daniel McGee and Patrick Stickles sang Waking Up Drunk together and it was something of an epic moment. Well, last night I wasn't expecting anything nearly as epic, but I must say, it was almost better. I really didn't want to see any other band last night except for Spider Bags really, but I'm so glad I did. I've seen Liquor Store a few times and the others I've never even heard of. Well, Foster Care is my new favorite band and Jon Wesley Coleman was fucking amazing and of course, Spider Bags killed it. Tommy's wasn't so bad after all.
