Summer Tits

A friend of mine who is also a world renowned journalist once explained to me the concept of summer tits. I love summer tits. But there are things that are far more wonderful about the summer that extends beyond summer tits (although I really love that, too). There's a wonderful thing called Underwater Peoples and last summer, it was the only reason that I was excited to leave the exquisite realm of Greeceland and come back to this land called Brooklyn for a show that lasted forever. In retrospect, it was probably both the worst night ever and yet the most wonderful thing I've ever been to. The highlight of 2009 was without a doubt, the underwater peoples showcase that happened at Market Hotel. Of course being a Strong Island baby that I am, I arrived right on time so I could see the set of Liam The Younger who is probably the only reason I ever found out about Underwater Peoples. So I sat there from 4 PM to 11:30 PM the day after I arrived back in America Land and it was the grandest. I think it was right about the time when Big Troubles popped out of the world's big musical vagina. Every single one of my favorite bands played that day/night! Pill Wonder, Family Portrait, Julian Lynch (on a projector), Liam the Younger, Fluffy Lumbers, Frat Dad, Real Estate, Andrew Cedermark (probably my favorite set), Big Troubles, Ducktails, and did Alex Bleeker play? I don't remember. But I do remember leaving early right before Real Estate and feeling like death and as I wandered around the Jamaica LIRR station I specifically recall people on the sidewalk telling me I looked like I was about to die. "OH GURL YOU LOOK LIKE SHIT" "OH GURL YOU LOOK DEAD" Then I passed out in a little waiting room, sleeping so sound and wonderfully only to wake a minute after my train passed. Then I patiently waited for two more hours until the next one came. Anyway, the point is, that's a kind of funny story and Underwater Peoples is awesommmeee and summer is here which means Underwater Peoples BETTER do another showcase. OR ELSE.
